Rain : The Enemy

As all of you know, it rains quite a lot here in Singapore. The rain messes up the lovely hair that you set in the morning and makes it fuzzy and uncomfortable for the rest of the day. For those who face this problem all the time, you may have given up at this point to control your hair against the rain.

But don’t give up just yet! We will list here several things that you can try at your home everyday to prevent your hair from blowing up! Taking care of your hair everyday is rather important, since these everyday care protects your hair from damage, which is often the leading cause of having uncontrollable hair on rainy days.

1. Blow dry your hair after showers! Do you always blow dry your hair everyday? Naturally drying your hair causes the proteins that keep your hair healthy to escape. Blow drying prevents this from happening.

2. When shampooing, keeping the water at a relatively low temerature will reduce damage to your hair.

3. When shampooing, the water pressure whould not be too high. Strong pressures of water can cause the nutrients in your hair to flush down.

4. Before shampoo, make sure you rinse your hair so that it is thoroughly wet. This decreases the amount of shampoo you need to use for shampooing, therefore reducing damage.

5. This may be a bit obvious, but you should make sure to purchase shampoos and conditioners that contain a lot of nutrients (nutrients that are similar to those in the hair!)

6. If possible, use After-shower treatment.

7. When drying your hair, avoid putting the dryer very close to your hair. The heat from the dryer will cause damage to your hair. Make sure to keep the dryer at a certain distance from the hair.

8. Go to a hair salon once per month and take treatment. Also asking the hair stylist for advice that suits your hair quality may help!
