My fears of picking up the phone

Hi! Nobuko here again.

I’ll share an embarrassing story about myself today. I guess it goes without saying that I’m Japanese (cos my name duh), but I consider English to be my mother tongue. So it scares me to nuts when I pick up a call from a Japanese customer who wants to make an appointment. There are all these formalities involved in the Japanese language to make sure we don’t sound rude to customers and the harder I try to speak ‘properly’ the worse everything gets. I’m not saying I hate picking up phone from our Japanese customers but instead, please be prepared to hear some terrible Japanese when I pick up the phone!
