Mistakes to stop making in 2023

Here are some common mistakes that you should leave in 2022 for healthy hair in 2023.

Condition your hair correctly
I will come right out and say that I am guilty of applying conditioner all over my hair, even to my scalp because I loved how smooth conditioner made my hair. However, this will definitely backfire with a greasy scalp and flat hair. This is because you should only use the conditioner on your hair, and never on your scalp. The purpose of a conditioner is to smoothen your cuticles and replace moisture lost from your hair after shampooing.Do make sure to rinse your hair out well, so that there is no residue left from the conditioner as that creates a oily look, and may cause hailfall in the future.

2. Avoid brushing your hair when it is sill wet
I understand the urge to brush your hair right after the shower to make it all smooth. However, your hair is still very vulnerable and prone to breakage when it is wet. Rather, towel dry your hair and leave it to airdry for 30 minutes of so, before using a wide-tooth comb to get rid of any knots that you may have in your hair. Remember to always comb your hair from the bottom up, and gently work through those knots.

3. Try not to over style your hair
Who doesn’t want to leave the house with gorgeous looking hair? We all do. But your hair deserves a break from all the heat treatments. Be it, a hairdryer, a straightener or hair curler. All these tools depend on heat to manipulate the shape of your hair. Putting your hair under such stress may cause breakage. Rather, if you have to style your hair, ensure that you hair has been partially towel-dried before using a hairdryer, or apply heat protectant spray to your locks before styling. And never ever style your hair with a straightener or curling iron while your hair is still wet.
