2018 Mini Style Report: Violet Styles

Greetings comrades.

Monday is upon us again, which means it’s the start of yet another week-long round of slogging for the capitalist machine.

In line with the capitalist spirit of consumerism, as well as to brighten up this dull, dreary weekday, we will be bringing you a mini style report on one of the touted hottest colours of 2018 – violet!

According to an article in Time, ultra violet was named by the Pantone Colour Institute, a colour consulting company, as the “colour of the year” for 2018 – a title given to the colour that best symbolises design trends, and the cultural mood for the year.

Perhaps as befitting of a colour symbolising creativity and progressiveness, violet and its various sister shades have been incorporated in a variety of rather unique styles done by our stylists here at Art-Noise.

…and full-head crazy colours, violet has been there, done that, and with it set to become an even hotter colour in 2018, safe to say we will be seeing many more such creations in the coming months!

A common question we often receive when customers request such hair colours is often whether or not bleaching would be required. The answer is, yes, and no. Yes, if you have virgin hair/very dark hair; maybe no, if you already have light-coloured hair, or if your hair takes up colour very well. As violet itself is a rather bright colour, some stripping of dark pigments will inevitably be involved in order for it to show up on Asian hair well, and bleaching is the most straightforward way to do this.
